Marion Meyers Speaks with Abigail at the Poppy Project.

The Poppy project to provide accommodation and support to women who have been trafficked into prostitution or domestic servitude.

The Poppy Outreach Service works to improve the safety and wellbeing of women from all over the UK who have been trafficked and who are in need of short-term support and advocacy.

‘And the winner is…’

‘Till the day I die I shall never forget that July afternoon at The River Dream Centre in Exeter, the Women’s Conference to which my daughter Sally had invited me was drawing gently to a close. We had reached the stage of drawing the prize to see who had won the car; someone’s name was drawn out of ‘the hat’. Then to all our surprises, the winner declined her prize because, she said, she had just bought herself a new car so back to ‘the hat’! When Sally’s name was drawn out I was absolutely delighted and joined with everyone else in delighted applause. Imagine my astonishment when, as she made her way up to the podium I heard her say:

‘My Mum drives a rubbish car; can I give her this one?’

I must have told that story many, many times. But every time, the reaction it produces is the same: delight, wonder and a sharing in my joy at such a generous and unexpected present. It is a lovely little red car, as boisterous and full of life as I hope I am. Anyone who has a car like that is as quick to spot a fellow driver and enthusiast, so in the year since I have had my little car, I have made many friends and shared a million friendly exchanges.

Quite apart from the blessing the car itself has brought, it has surrounded me with enormous joy. I am so grateful to the Women In Touch team who dared to believe God to fund and buy a car and organise a raffle for their very special women’s conference; thank you also to Sally for passing on the blessing and most of all thank you to my most generous and faithful God for this wonderful blessing.

Anyway, can I say a great big thank you to you and your team for making the Drive Conference a wonderful and memorable experience.  Our ladies thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with you all and came away blessed and changed by the ministry which we all received.

The teaching given was excellent and life changing.  The worship was such a wonderful gateway into His presence.  The Joy was palpable.  And the car !  We all had a really great time in the presence of the Lord and learnt and experienced soooo much.

To follow through with the saga of the car.  Kay felt that is was right that she give the car away.  She said she was sowing this blessing into the lives of her children.  When she came back her daughter, who lives in Sheffield,  came to her and asked for prayer as she had not been sleeping  and getting her life together was a struggle.  Kay prayed for her and she had been sleeping well since.  As Kay and her husband were Christians whne the divorce happened this had confused the children and they have become astranged from the Lord.  Kay, with her newfound confidence and joy in the Lord,  is a great witness to her children because they saw just how hurt she was.  We continue to pray into the situation with Kay.  Just the very fact that she had been CHOSEN (not only to win the car), had made her feel so special and loved.  Thank you providing the platform from which this blessing has sprung.

I pray that the blessing you have given to those at the conference will return to you and your ministry with an abundance that only can come from God.  I give no limit for our God is limitless.

Once again, thank you on behalf of all our ladies who, by the way, were planning next year’s conference trip on the way home.

Give our love to all the girls, you are all beautiful  Daughters of  the King.

Ladies, here it is! We said we’d be giving away a car at Touch this year, and last Saturday we bought it! It is a beautiful Ford Ka that one blessed guest will be walking away with in just over 2 weeks time!

All it needs now is a pink bow on top!

Good news ladies! Marion has been officially recognised by Elim as a ministery and was ordained on the 2nd of June! This is a photo of Marion with John and Marilyn Glass. John is the General Superintendant of Elim and Marilyn runs Aspire – Elim’s first women’s initiative.
